Plans

Emma has left the Netherlands and is back in the UK. I think that 3 years of living in The Netherlands has given her a certain life experience. I have a lot of respect for the way she adapted to Holland. I can tell you I now have a different view on this country then I had before. I realise that this country can be very hard to understand for foreigners. We seem to be very tolerant but in fact we are not...
Back to 2005: Emma and I met at Tararu Valley, New Zealand. In fact it was Emma who recruited me as a volunteer. I worked at Tararu Valley Conservation Trust for about 5 months and it really changed my life, in many aspects.

We decided to go to Fiji for a short holiday and to start thinking about the future. Our plan was to go back to Europe, live together for a while and start doing voluntary work, something Emma introduced me to. Looking back we maybe should have left a bit earlier but things happen as they come.

And now... Our trip will start in de 2nd week of August. We will be visiting Peacehaven, close to Brighton, to do a voluntary project there. I have to confess that Emma did a really good job at planning and contacting projects and she deserves all the credits for that!

When we got married we promised our Irish family to pay them a visit before we head off and I think we will be seeing them in September/October. We haven't planned that yet but it will certainly happen. I haven't visited Ireland still and now we have another very good reason to go.

Begin November we will fly to Hongkong. We will stay there for 3 nights and then fly to Sydney where we will be staying another 3 nights before heading to Christchurch, New Zealand. In New Zealand we will be travelling around for about 4 months. And we will also do 4 voluntary projects. After this we will fly to South America, Santiago-Chile. About this part of our journey we will inform you in one of the next Posts.

Take care,

Ray

Ray you forgot the most important part.. here let me help you..
Whilst in New Zealand we will be visiting Emma's talented and creative friend , Ellen (yes, she of internationally famed beauty). We plan to drink our combined body weight in Whiskey Mac's, eat a never ending supply of home baked goods and visit a few penguins and the odd seal when they are at home.
Can't wait.
