Sandfly power

Heard at Park Cafe, Marahau during Mic Night

One day the king of all animals, the Lion, called all animals of the planet to join him for a special meeting. There was something very important he wanted the animals to talk about. When all animals where gathered the Lion raised himself and started his speech: "I have heard from different areas of the world that we have a major problem with one particular species called human. I think it is very important to hear different witnesses to have a clear opinion on this matter, so I would like to suggest that we share our experiences with each other. Who would like to start?" The Lion sat down again and for a moment it was quiet. Carefully the Cow got on her feet, looked at the animals and began her story: " We cows have been treated very badly lately by humans. Once we are born they feed us all this food which makes us grow too quickly, so all our muscles and bones start to hurt. And when we are big enough they kill us for our meat." "That's right!", screamed the Sheep while she jumped up. "They do that to us too! They take away our fleece and when they think it's time they kill us!" And suddenly all the animals started grumbling and shouting. A huge cacophony rose up from the group. Then the Lion got up again and shouted: "Enough! Quiet! I notice that we all have a problem with the humans and to be honest with you they haven' t been nice to us either. A lot of us are hunted as a trophy. I think we should discuss what to do with this problem so we can live our lives as before again." " Kill them like they do to us!", screamed the Sheep. "Yeah!", replied the Cow. "Ok", said the Lion. "I think we need to vote on this matter. All in favor raise your feet!" And immediately all animals raised their feet, except one, the Sandfly. The Lion noticed it and said: "Well, Sandfly, why is it that you don't vote for the killing of the humans while every other animal does so?" The Sandfly flew up and replied to the Lion: "Well, I think we will have  a huge problem when all humans have gone. This would mean the end of the Sandflies' existence because we need their blood to live..." The Lion looked surprised and thought about it for a moment. And then said: "Ok, we want to respect the Sandflies' wishes and I think it's unwise to kill the human. So for the sake of the Sandfly: the humans may live!" And therefor the humans are still alive....
